NCVNVM
Annual Meeting 2000
We gather once a year at different locations around the country.
In 2000 we met October 9 - 13, 2000 in Attleboro, Massachusetts at LaSalette's Center for Christian Living.
Events included:
- A chance to see the progress made in our Pastoral Care for Trauma Survivors and our A Time to Search Projects and to meet some of the people who are involved in them.
- A review of other new projects being developed by the organization for grant funding and staff implementation. These projects will also provide an opportunity for involvement on working groups, advisory panels and as contributors.
- Special presentation by Laurie Pearlman of TREATI, who also made a panel presentation with Dr. Jonathan Shay.
- Discussion of other issues of special importance to members. One of our participants told of the trauma faced by aid workers during and immediately after the massacres in Monrovia in 1999. Photos from that event illustrate a poem called "The Walls Bear Witness".
- An opportunity for participants to participate in an an autumn leaves excursion to the rustic home of one of our nearby members.
