International Conference of War Veteran Ministers
Annual Meeting
We gather once a year at different locations around the country.
- The next Annual Meeting will be October 13-17, 2008 at the Cenacle Retreat House in Metairie, Louisiana. Rates and dates are being established.
- These Annual Meetings include a special invitation to clergy who are veterans of conflicts after Vietnam, including the current conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.
- Annual Meetings are for current and potential full, associate, and affiliate members.
- Serve as a spiritual welcome home to veterans who are also clergy or full time religious workers. There are opportunities for "sharing our stories" making tangible the healing nature of doing so in a community of trust.
- Serve as a source of spiritual growth. The context of scripture, prayer, and liturgy from our respective traditions has made these experiences both unique and powerful as settings for healing.
- Serve as a source of professional growth. We invite speakers from fields of concern to our ministries as war veterans who are ordained or fulltime religious workers.
- Serve as a means of outward focus as we make plans for our organization, and for our organization's work.
