PCTS:
NCVNVM Member Presentations
A variety of NCVNVM member presentations are being made to advance the Pastoral Care for Trauma Survivors emphasis. Currently, three formats comprise these activities:
- Workshops. One such proposed workshop is on the Theology of Suffering, or "Dark Night of the Soul". See this page for more information.
- Resolutions. When confronted with awareness of the traumatic impact of urban violence on adolescents, we passed a resolution on Adolescents, Trauma, and Urban Violence on June 7th, 2000. The resolution was employed by members testifying before the California legislature on behalf of funds in support of traumatized adolescents.
- Publications and Presentations by members. An important part of the Pastoral Care for Trauma Survivors emphasis is that each NCVNVM member has the opportunity and responsibility to initiate activities in his or her own area of work. Such presentations have been especially numerous since the tragic events of September 11, 2001.
