"An Khe Chapel"

When An Khe was the Division Headquarters for the First Cav, they built a beautiful stone chapel, which the First Brigade, 4th Infantry Division inherited when we took over the An Khe base. I recently spoke to someone who had been in An Khe a couple of years later, in the later stages of the American withdrawal. At that point, they had pulled the perimeter in to accomodate the smaller number of defenders, and this building was no longer a chapel but an officers club. -- Chaplain Jack Day
